About Louise
Louise Grunewald is a visual artist working in the disciplines of drawing, painting, hand lettering, printmaking, and book design. She operates her studio, Western Hands, in Durango, Colorado. The subject matter of her art and writing is largely inspired by time spent outdoors in the natural world and traveling to new environments with her sketchbook in hand. Louise’s work can be seen in many private and public collections in the United States and internationally. Special collections include the Portland Art Museum, the New Mexico History Museum, The Natural History Institute, the University of Arizona, Bowdoin College, San Francisco Public Library, and the Klingspor Museum of Book and Letter Arts in Offenbach Germany.
